Confidentiality
-
What we talk about stays between us. I will only share information without your permission if the law requires it—for example, if there is risk of harm to a child, serious and immediate risk to you or someone else, or if a court orders it. Where possible, I will always speak with you first.
If you're using a Mental Health Treatment Plan, Medicare requires updates to your GP following the first 6 sessions. With your consent, I may also keep your psychiatrist or paediatrician informed—for example, to support medication reviews or diagnostic coordination. You will always be told before any correspondence is sent.
Full details are in my Privacy Policy, which complies with the AASW Code of Ethics and the Australian Privacy Principles.
